Kavita received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science,Dietetics Specialization, from the University of Alberta. From interning in Calgary and Lethbridge to working as a clinical dietitian for Alberta Health Services, Kavita has a broad horizon of dietetics and patient care.
Kavita has a passion for nutrition stemming from when she was very young; being mesmerized by the universality of food. From a scientific perspective, food can be used as a preventative treatment for many different diseases, Diabetes for example. With tips such as “drink orange juice to prevent a cold" coming from her doctor, Kavita grew more curious about why. How does something like an orange have the power to make us feel better? On the other hand, food is also emotional. Food is central to culture and social gatherings – it also holds a special place during those times when it feels like nothing but a pint (or two) of chocolate ice cream is there for us. It is these things that have made nutrition a passion of hers as a dietitian.
Kavita is passionate to keep learning all she can about the science behind nutrients, and finding a balance between clean and comfort eating- fuel or soul food
With clients, Kavita works to develop realistic goals that help achieve a healthy lifestyle, promoting balance. Working together to achieve your nutrition goals whatever they may be!
