"Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated by the body! Our relationship with nature, health & wellness and how they all intertwine to give us his beautiful living vessel that carries us through life. SO COOL!"
Hi Guys! I’m Jordyn, one of the founders of The Study!
My background in the fitness world started way back when, growing up on my parents ranch, the adventures never ended. I have been lucky to have grown up on a horse ranch so it was inevitable that they were going to be a large part of my life. I have been riding since before I could walk and now, rodeo and barrel racing is where a large part of my heart is. Horses bring an aspect into my life that I will cherish forever; a connection, a challenge, a workout and a partnership.
Being someone who has always been fascinated by the mind-body connection, I turned to yoga...and well, I have never looked back. From there, my teacher training followed and the rest is history. The mat has been somewhere I go when I need a good sweat, a meditation zone or just some me time. As my yoga practice continued I started to venture out onto different avenues and this is when I found Spin and Barre.
Spin was something I was hooked on immediately, the energy inside the room, the sound of the music as our bodies followed in sync and the kick ass workout with sweat dripping from every inch of my body was amazing. I don’t know if I have ever felt more of a community when I am riding with 20 some other riders going to the beat of the music all together in unity!
Barre was the final piece for me. I had always wanted to try it but to be honest, I was a little nervous because I was never this amazing ballerina. Turns out, it never mattered and it shouldn’t for you either! Barre is a workout I have fallen so in love with as it encompasses beauty, elegance, strength, patience and the power of the mind.
Together, Spin, Barre & Yoga fit so perfectly in my life. All helping and complimenting each other to build my mind & body in a way that I feel confident, strong and most importantly healthy!
A large part of The Study is community. There is something beautiful in finding a community of like minded people who care about their bodies, their health as much as we do (I mean, who doesn’t get giddy about a good green juice!?).
If I am not working up a sweat, you can find me on my horses at my family ranch, a rodeo or out in the mountains with my two fur babes and my husband exploring Alberta’s beautiful countryside! My Favs: Green juice, coffee, my dogs, my husband (...had to say it), traveling, the mountains, yoga, barre and spin (obvi), any juice bar or farmers market, romantic comedies, rose (...any wine really), a good veggie burger, essential oils, all types of fashion.
My Pet Peeves: sickness, rude people, spin, barre, yoga snobs, poor service, bullies.
