F I R S T  R I D E ?

New to spin? Don't sweat it.. We have put together some tips to help you make the most of your first ride. Also, feel free to let your instructor know that you are new. We are here to help and happy to show you the ropes.

Spin at The Study | Spin Barre and Yoga in Cochrane, Alberta

Hydrate!

Make sure you hydrate before you arrive and remember to bring a water bottle for throughout your sweaty endeavor - If you do forget though, we’ve got you covered.  Hydrating allows your body to function properly so it’s the first step to having a great class!

Snackin’

In spin class you burn a lot of calories, so you’ll want to make sure that you have enough energy to get you through these high intensity rides. Snack on something light an hour or so before class! That should do the trick. We’ll work it off in class- we promise..

Outfit of the Day

For your #OOTD we suggest wearing tight pants, crops or a pair of shorts with a light, breathable top. Things get sweaty in here so you will want to be prepared for that!

Bike Set Up

If you are new to spin we do ask that you arrive at the studio 10 minutes before class. We are committed to each and every rider having an amazing, and safe ride. This means proper bike set up! Here's a quick cheat sheet:
  • Seat Height: In line with your hipbone when standing next to the bike
  • Fore/Aft Seat Position: back enough that your legs create a 90°angle when stopped
  • Handlebar Height: This is more for comfort, but we recommend slightly above your seat
