Why We’re At The Barre

Barre is a combination of 'dance', pilates, yoga and strength training. It hits muscles you never knew you had, and has incredible capability to tone the body... quickly! We're hooked! Every pulse is perfectly timed to match the beat and we move together as one team. it drives the vibes right through the roof!  ​

We Pulse Together

Here at The Study, it’s not only about the workout.  It’s about the community. We go through our classes as a team and support each other to push a little harder and a little further than yesterday. We use our peers to reach limits we never thought possible. There is something magical about a group of people moving to the beat, moving as one and sweating. Don’t worry - we think sweating is sexy! 

Push and Pull

After each set of movements, we give our muscles a chance to recover and stretch. As we get stronger, our muscles shorten and we become less flexible - this is why we focus on stretching! We want the best of both worlds, strength and flexibility, and think we deserve it too! Because we work on and off of the barre we are constantly asking our bodies to balance in new positions. By doing this we improve balance, coordination and force our core to be engaged throughout the entire class. Win-win if you ask us. ​

Learn. Always.

Much like our lives, relationships and fashion trends, our classes are constantly evolving to keep you on your toes. We are committed to getting you a killer workout, but this doesn’t stop at your muscles. This means both body and mind and the connection between them. By including all muscle groups and using the music to guide us, we are able to keep the mind fresh and thinking the entire class. Plus- it acts as a gorgeous distraction to the hard work your body is doing! 

Hard on the Muscle, Kind on the Joints

One huge benefit to Barre is the low impact on our hips, knees and all joints for that matter. Movements are so small and controlled that we can avoid doing any damage to our precious joints, while strengthening the surrounding muscles. Barre is a great option for people recovering from knee pain, back pain or anything in between, and for those without any pain! We bring the burn to class- every time.

Barre is especially great for all ages because of its low impact, small range of motion and of course the many modifications that can be made! Come one, come all!
